Product Syncing
Because creating a Product in Bufferzone doesn’t automatically create a new product in Lightspeed, syncing of Products is best approached from Lightspeed to Bufferzone. Inventory should generally be controlled from within Lightspeed which will then update Bufferzone.
However, if a Product that isn’t in either Bufferzone or Lightspeed is entered as a line item in a Job Card, upon Sending and Completing the job, the Product will be added to both Bufferzone and Lightspeed. A SKU will be automatically generated from Lightspeed and added to the Item Code for the product in Bufferzone. This suggests that on hitting Send and Complete on the Job Card, the new product is pushed to Lightspeed in the Invoice, a new product is created in Lightspeed which adds the SKU and then pushes the product back to the product list in Bufferzone.
Product Deactivation
A new feature implemented late in 2024 deals with product deactivation. Now, deactivating a product in Lightspeed will automatically delete it from Bufferzone. Please note that there may be a short delay of a few minutes before the product is removed from Bufferzone.
Job Cards and Barcode Scanning
When using the Barcode Scanner on a Job Card in Bufferzone, it will use the Item Code of a product (as listed on the Products page) to identify it. When the Invoice is created in Lightspeed, this product will be listed on it with the Product name and SKU. When syncing with Lightspeed, the Item Code draws its contents from the SKU. If the SKU is left blank in Lightspeed, the ‘handle’ will be added as the SKU which will then in turn be used as the Item Code and hence the Barcode Scanner source for products on Job Cards.
A product will not be added to the Job Card unless the Item Code exists in the product list on the product page.

Even though the prices of products should match between Lightspeed and Bufferzone, if a product’s price is changed in the Job Card itself, that price will be the one listed on the invoice, not the listed price in the Lightspeed inventory. So Bufferzone has the final say on pricing at the Job Card/Invoice level.
Also, note that if the Barcode Scanner is used multiple times for the same product, it will not add a new line item to the Job Card, it will increment the number of units of the product selected.
